Day 2 in Criccieth for our Year 10 Geography field trip as we enjoy more house celebrations!

After a day's human fieldwork in Llandudno yesterday, today our Year 10 GCSE geographers have conducted a full day's work of beach profiling.

And collecting samples:

The geographers will enjoy a further lesson, evening meal and some free time this evening before their final day tomorrow and a return to school in the afternoon.

More House celebrations

Here in school, we started the day with more end-of-half term house celebrations as the students who have been awarded the highest number of house points this half term were assembled. From PARK: Elsie 7T, Sophie 7S & Rory 8S:

OAK: Charlie S 7U, Phoebe 7S & Nicole 7R:

And ORME: Nell 7T, Eden 7S & Lois 7S.

Really well done all, and we're excitedly counting down the hours until tomorrow's BIG reveal of which House finishes this half term at the top of the leaderboard! Watch this space!

Interhouse Chess

Another hotly contended interhouse Chess tournament took place in our Auditorium last night with fantastic levels of play. Mrs Chadwick was delighted to announce the results this morning: 1st Orme, 2nd Bradfield, 3rd Mersey, 4th Park and 5th Oak!

With huge congratulations also to our unbeaten players: Awais 7U (Bradfield) and Charlie M 8S (Orme), amazing! Really well done to everyone who took part!

Design a card competition winner

Huge congratulations to Sophie 7R the winner of our competition to design a birthday card for our new incoming Y7 students who have a June birthday! A lovely early welcome to our UGS community, we are delighted to send newcomer students whose birthday falls before the September start a card designed by our current Year 7s,

And we are sure that June's birthday cohort will be thrilled with Sophie's fantastic design, inspired by the recent visitors to our school pond

Really well done Sophie and the competition for July's card design is now open!
