post 18 day

Fantastic programme of events for our Year 12 students!

Today saw a very important event on our Sixth Form calendar: Post 18/Interview Day, a full day's programme of mock interviews, workshops and presentations for our Year 12 students to participate in as they plan and navigate their important next steps and pathways into Higher Education, Degree Apprenticeships and employment.

We were delighted to welcome visiting representatives from a huge variety of professions to conduct mock interviews with our students in the sectors in which they aspire to pursue careers, including Medicine, Veterinary Science, Law, Engineering, Clinical Psychology, Finance/Business, Technology and Higher Education.

We also welcomed representatives from Lancaster University to deliver a presentation on choosing a course and university:

And from UA92 on "Hire Power" (as seen in our lead picture).

Mrs McNally delivered a workshop on writing the all-important Personal Statement for University applications:

And in the LRC, Ms Longden guided students through UCAS registration and early preparation of university applications.

We have been delighted to receive so much positive feedback from visiting representatives about the engagement of our students throughout the day, and from Year 12 themselves on what an informative and useful experience it has been.

With huge thanks to all who gave their time to facilitate and support this wonderful opportunity for our Year 12 students!
