farewell class of 2026

We celebrate the last day at UGS of our fantastic Year 13 students!

As their A level exams begin, on Friday we bid a sad but fond farewell to our Class of 2026.

The celebrations began with a special leaver's breakfast in Newton Hall.

And, in a long-standing tradition, many of our Year 13s chose to wear their school uniform and get their shirts signed by peers and staff.

It was then time for the special farewell assembly at which Head Mr Kennedy-Fowler, Head of Sixth Form Mrs Mangham-Dewhurst, and Head of Year Mrs Mohamed shared their pride in the year group.

A special reading list scholarship award was also presented to outstanding student Jamie, who received a well-deserved standing ovation from his peers.

It was then time for the screening of the much-anticipated leaver's video, a fond farewell from all of our staff to the students.

We're incredibly proud of the UGS journey of all of our Year 13s, for some it has been 7 years, and for others 2 years after we welcomed them into Sixth Form from other schools in the area and beyond.

It has been a privilege and a pleasure, and we could not be more proud of their hard work and all that they have contributed to our school community. We wish them the very best of well-deserved success in their A level exams and future lives, and they will always and forever be a part of UGS.
