maths challenge

Interhouse sports, fundraising and more as a busy week ends!

This week a group of our talented mathematicians from Years 7, 9, 10 and 11 (pictured), who were hugely successful in the first round of the UK Maths Trust challenges, qualified to compete in stage 2, which they undertook with determination, flexing their skills in arithmetic and problem-solving.

We wish them the very best of luck and look forward to sharing outcomes!

KS4 Interhouse Sports

This week also saw the second stage of our Key Stage 4 Interhouse sports tournaments, as Years 10 and 11 entered into a spirit of friendly competition.

They competed to earn those all-important house points in dodgeball, badminton and table tennis.

Great levels of play, team spirit, determination and resilience were on display. Well done to everyone who took part!

Charity fundraising

Our Year 12 Wings of Hope (WOHAA) students today organised a hugely successful charity bake sale, and it was lovely to see how many of our students showed their support, proudly demonstrating our core values of pride, participation and empathy, all for a great cause.

Easter Egg collection

Our kind-hearted School Council is organising a collection of Easter eggs for children in Wythenshawe Hospital's Starlight Children's Ward, to lift their spirits during their hospital stay. School Council is asking students to bring in donations of Easter eggs on Friday 27th March. The support of our school community for this lovely cause is greatly appreciated.

Book Fair

Our Book Fair launched today, and it was fantastic to see so many of our students turn out to choose new titles, while also showing support, as every purchase helps us to earn free books for school.

A big shout also to our brilliant Year 10 Reading Ambassadors: Arwen, Yannes, and Karunya for all of their hard work helping Book Fair customers!

The Book Fair will be open again from Tuesday-Thursday next week, and we look forward to seeing lots more keen readers there!
