little shop of horrors

A show-stopping opening night!
Yesterday evening saw the opening night of our fantastic school production of Alan Menken's Little Shop of Horrors.

In Act 1 we meet the Ronettes, expertly played by Year 11s Evelyn, Marianne, Chiara and Siya, and Year 10s Violet and Olivia.

While not forgetting our Year 7 and 8 Mini Ronettes: Aria, Bella, Eve, Sitara, Jessica and Phoebe!

Before too long, we were introduced to lead characters Seymour (Adam 10U) and Audrey (Daania 11M), who are co-workers at Mr Mushnik's (Laurie 11S) run-down flower shop on Skid Row.

After a sudden eclipse of the sun, things become very interesting when Seymour, who is secretly in love with Audrey, finds a mysterious plant who he names Audrey II (voiced by Alex 11U).

When Seymour accidentally pricks his finger and Audrey II imbibes a little blood, the plant begins to thrive and grow.

However, the initial joy at Audrey II becoming a major attraction is short-lived, and things begin to take something of a sinister turn ... with horrifying consequences!

Along the way, we meet a whole cast of characters, including sadistic dentist Orin (Pete 9T) who happens to be Audrey's boyfriend:

And we are treated to a whole host of stunning solo

And ensemble performances.

We could not be more proud of this amazing showcase of the talents of our performing arts students.

And those of our musicians, tech team, and dedicated staff who all work together to make the magic happen.

The show will be on again tonight and tomorrow evening to a full, sold-out house, and we wish the cast and crew the very best of luck.
