Science Club get colourfully creative and more!
Science club (pictured above and below) launched the week with a fun workshop investigating diffusion for our Year 7 and 8 students.

Mr Murray and our technicians, Mrs Yarwood and Mr Sharp, supported the students as they enjoyed taking part in both the Magic Milk experiment.

And the extremely colourful Skittles experiment. We look forward to sharing news on next week's activities!

On the Geography corridor, Mr Neale was very impressed with his Year 10 GCSE geographers (pictured below) who all utilised some flashcards they've been gifted by the Geography department to make a set of revision resources on Geomorphic processes for the new distinctive landscapes topic, creating examples of 'cued recall' as part of their spaced retrieval practice revision technique. This will also help them with their forthcoming residential in May!

In our MFL department, Year 12 Owen surprised his German class (pictured below) with a post-exam treat: a delicious home-made Bienenstich (Bee sting cake):

Owen was inspired to make it after it came up in a recent text the class are studying, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Year 11 Success Assembly
The latest in our series of Success assemblies was delivered this morning by Head of English Miss Derby (pictured below) on effective revision strategies and preparation for the English Language GCSE.

This will form the focus of this week's success task at an all-important time for Year 11, as next week they will sit their final English Language mock exam before the external exams in the summer.
