gurdwara trip

First day of Year 7 RE visits to Greater Manchester Gurdwara

On our first day back after the half-term break, the first of three groups of our Year 7 RE students enjoyed a fantastic visit to one of the largest Gurdwaras in Greater Manchester.

One of the Year 7 topics of study is a unit titled 'Should we sell Religious Buildings to feed the starving?' and in order to answer this question, all of our year 7 students will be undertaking the trip.

The visit included, a guided tour of the building, a brilliant Q&A session and ended with a treat- a full vegetarian Langar meal before heading back to school late in the afternoon.

The visit gave our students a wonderful insight into the inner workings of this sacred place of worship and two further groups of our Year 7 students will visit the Gurdwara over the course of this week, with huge thanks to our hosts.
