isoc charity event today

ISOC organise fantastic fund-raising event at lunchtime

UGS ISOC have today organised a fun charity event to raise money for the Feed the Homeless Manchester campaign; it involved not only a fund-raising sale of refreshments and edible treats, but a charity 5-a-side football match, with sure-footed volunteers from ISOC and Year 12 and Year 13 battling it out on our Astroturf for a great cause.

The first stage of the fund-raising tempted our kind-hearted students with a fabulous array of baked treats and deliciously chilled drinks, that members of ISOC had worked hard to source, arrange and sell in our outside seating area:

It drew in the crowds from across the year groups, who were eager to show their support and enjoy a welcome treat on this lovely day:

But the weather was also kind to our Year 12 and Year 13 footballers, who did battle to raise donations from the keen spectators.

It was a true show of sporting prowess and friendly competition.

It was also sadly one of the last events that our Year 13 students will participate in before they leave us for the start of the external A Level exam period, but it made for another great opportunity to create lasting memories of their time at UGS.

Well done all, we are super proud of our fabulous ISOC for organising another fantastic opportunity to help the wider community, and to bring all at UGS together to demonstrate and uphold our core values of Pride, Participation and Empathy on what has been a suitably glorious day.

Huge thanks to ISOC, and to all the students and staff who turned out to show their support.
