first artists of the week for this term

Our Art & Design department are delighted to announce that their first Artists of the Week for the Summer Term are the uber-talented winners of the Easter Egg Design Competition: Matthew W 8T, Violet W 8R, and staff winner Mr Sharp. Really well done all!

As Head of Department Mrs Nanvazadeh explains:

Over the Easter break, the Art & Design department challenged staff and students alike to decorate an egg like an art movement.  

An art movement is a tendency or style in art with a specific art philosophy or goal, followed by a group of artists during a specific period of time (usually a few months, years or decades), or, at least, with the heyday of the movement defined within a number of years.

Examples would be: Impressionism, Modernism, Pop-Art, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Op Art, Gothic Art to name but a few. 

The department were blown away by the creativity and talent demonstrated by the entrants:

What an egg-sibition of talent! Congratulations to all, and well done to everyone that entered! 

It was a tough call to decide, but it's our pleasure to showcase the winning submissions:
