celebrating our e-reading champions & our u15 volleyball team

Delighted to recognise high levels of engagement from our students with our fantastic e-book platform, and to celebrate Volleyball success!

Celebrating Beth 7R, Asfer 7R, Ethan 7R (pictured L-R) and Hamdan 8R: our ebook Reading Champions for this Half Term!

Last year, we added to our Library facilities at UGS, and progressed our reading programme and culture with the acquisition of an e-book platform, meaning that our students are able to access an entire E Library stock of titles, in addition to the hard copy books available in our two physical Library spaces: the Reading Room and the LRC.

The Ebook platform, as well as providing our students with a fantastic range of fiction and non-fiction titles to choose from, from new releases to classics, and trending bestsellers, also facilitates an immersive reading experience, including the opportunity to make digital notes as they read and to source vocabulary definitions, to access the texts in a range of translated languages, and to explore and compile themed reading lists.

We have been extremely impressed by the high level of engagement of our students with the platform, and as a school we were congratulated last week on this super level of engagement by the Eplatform provider.

Throughout this Half Term, our students have continued to impress, and we are proud to celebrate Beth, Asfer, Ethan and Hamdan, who have demonstrated the highest level of engagement by borrowing and reading the greatest number of e-books. They have each been awarded with house-points, prizes and a certificate.

Really well done all, keep up the amazing work, and next term we are looking forward to the launch of a new e-reading challenge, and to the addition of more titles to the platform.

Volleyball Success

We're also delighted to share news about the amazing achievement of our U15 Volleyball team, who triumphed this week and have secured a place in the Volleyball England Junior Nationals Cup Final on 21st April: Kairon, Muhau, Emeka, Joe, George and Max.

Great work, we could not be more proud, and we wish them the very best of luck!
