year 12 students attend cambridge university event

Great opportunity for our high-achieving Year 12 students to learn more about applications to Cambridge

Yesterday, as pictured, the Sixth Form Team accompanied a cohort of our Year 12 students who are on track to achieve at least A*AA at A level, and who aspire to apply for admission to Oxbridge, to attend the University of Cambridge North-West Student Conference at Haydock Park.

Representatives from Pembroke, St John's, Peterhouse, Downing and Sidney Sussex Colleges hosted the conference on behalf of the University of Cambridge for Year 12 students and staff, and it was designed to give invaluable guidance on admissions to Cambridge and the application process, including the delivery of sessions on:

  • How to make a competitive application to Cambridge
  • Finance and Careers
  • Interviews
  • The student experience
  • Teachers references
  • Subject overview sessions

Our Year 12 students were also able to meet with admissions tutors and current Cambridge students, which was a great opportunity to ask any questions about the entire application process from start to finish, and about the Cambridge experience.

With huge thanks to the Sixth Form Team for arranging this fantastic trip for Year 12, and to the hosts for this great event.
