our pta ambassadors begin fund-raising for comic relief

And ... there is more to come next week from our ambassadors, the School Council and ISOC!

Our fantastic PTA ambassadors are eager to support fund-raising for Comic Relief this year and to celebrate Red Nose Day today, and to that end they organised the sale of Red noses to our students and staff.

Year 7 PTA ambassador Poppy is pictured beginning to welcome customers at the start of break.

And next week there will be more fund-raising in school from our PTA ambassadors, ISOC and School Council:

Details were circulated yesterday, and we are delighted to share news that each day next week our PTA Ambassadors will be selling Easter Eggs: students will need £1 to purchase an egg, and monies raised will go to the PTA, who support enrichment activities in school and provide funding to improve facilities that benefit all of our students.

ISOC will also be selling small gift bags for £1-2 to raise money for humanitarian charities in the Middle East.

And the School council is collecting Easter Eggs for the Starlight Children's Ward at Wythenshawe Hospital! Students are being asked to bring Easter Egg donations to the hall on the morning of Friday 22nd March. All donations are greatly appreciated!

We know that everyone in our wider school community will do us proud by getting behind these great causes and initiatives.

Well done all!

Our Art and Design department have also launched an exciting new challenge for our students: to decorate an egg in the spirit of an Art movement.

Head of Department Mrs Nanvazadeh here provides the details, and we can't wait to see all the submissions:

Who else is egg-cited for Easter?

We eggs-pect this Easter will be lots of fun. For even more fun though…

The Art & Design department challenges you to decorate an egg like an art movement.

An art movement is a tendency or style in art with a specific art philosophy or goal, followed by a group of artists during a specific period of time, (usually a few months, years or decades) or, at least, with the heyday of the movement defined within a number of years. Examples would be: Impressionism, Modernism, Pop-Art, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Op Art, Gothic Art to name but a few.

Deadline for entries is Tuesday 9th April 2024
