interhouse chess tournament

Intense but friendly atmosphere in the latest round of Interhouse Chess!

After school today in our hushed Conference Room, Chess Club and House leader Mrs Chadwick was delighted to host the latest UGS Interhouse Chess tournament.

Chess Club members and competitors, new and old, assembled to take their place, enjoy the play, watch the experienced in action, and participate to be awarded points for their respective houses.

There were students from across the year groups, and it's fantastic to see the sense of UGS community in friendly action.

And this evening, Mrs Chadwick is excited to announce that the results are now in:

It was another very successful interhouse chess event after school today, with students from Years 7-11 represented.

The winning house (with the highest average number of wins per player) was: Park

Joint second : Bradfield and Mersey

Joint third : Oak and Orme

Most successful players: Mobeen K Park (3 wins) and Andy S Mersey (2 wins 1 draw)

With huge thanks to all of our players and to Mrs Chadwick for arranging these fantastic opportunities.
