pi day competition at ugs

Pi Day is almost upon us, so our Maths department have arranged "the ultimate event of the year" in order to celebrate, and are challenging our students to bake a Pi of their choice, to capture it on camera, and to submit it to be judged by a team that would put Paul Hollywood in the shade.

The students will not simply be judged on the quality of their bake, however: the remit is to include "pie-related measurements such as crust circumference, filling area and perfectly sliced sectors".

The closing date is 14th March, and the Maths department look forward to receiving lots of entries.
