fantastic chess result!

Chess Club leader Mrs Chadwick is proud to share breaking news this afternoon about the fantastic level of play demonstrated by our Year 7 and 8 Chess teams.

They travelled to Manchester Grammar School to compete in the English Chess Federation Junior Team challenge, and played teams from Bolton Boy's School and Wilmslow High.

The atmosphere was palpable but friendly as the budding grandmasters fought hard to take control of the chequered board, and the skills demonstrated were admirable.

Mrs Chadwick reports: "Whilst we didn't progress to the next round, all our players secured individual victories.  The team comprised: Oliver 7M, Daniel 8U, Andy 8R and Rahul 8R".

Bolton Boy's took eventual victory, but our teams impressed.
