year 7 science club traces the evidence!

Another great Forensic Science lunchtime session today for our Year 7 scientists

As you can see, Year 7 are really enjoying continuing to get to grips with the opportunity to learn more about Forensic Science during their lunchtime Science Club, and to put it all into practice.

Science Club leader Mrs Walsh shares that, after learning how to take samples, study fingerprints, and separate inks using chromatography earlier this month, today they enjoyed an excellent and exciting session delivered by Dr Richards on the science of blood spatter analysis.

After hearing all about the analytical process, Year 7 were then given the opportunity to get involved in this scientific procedure hands on, using synthetic blood of course!

They conducted experiments to identify patterns in the (synthetic) blood droplet fall from different heights, and it's great to see the students really engage with the mechanics of science in action.

Keep up the fantastic work Year 7, with huge thanks to Mrs Walsh and Dr Richards for facilitating these inspiring extracurricular opportunities for our keen scientists!
