house puzzle week launches!

Students start the new week with the launch of daily challenges & more!

Launch of House Puzzle Week & House Poster competition for forthcoming National Science Week

The House leaders are excited today to kickstart House Puzzle Week for our students (and staff) with today's Anagram Word Wheel challenge:

As Mrs Chadwick explains about this week's initiative:

"Every day this week, a new puzzle will be posted: anyone who enters a correct solution to a puzzle will receive house points, and for each puzzle type there will be bonus points available.

All correct entries receive a house point, and there will be bonus house points for students/staff who create the most words".

A great opportunity for all to participate, to flex their thinking skills, and to support their Houses by winning points!

Poster competition ahead of National Science Week

For KS3 Years 7, 8 & 9, Mrs Walsh has today launched a house competition to design and create a poster to celebrate British Science Week with the theme of ‘Time’. The requirements are that: "Posters should be creative as well as scientific. The design is totally up to the student, who might consider an area of science in the past and how it has developed to the present day, or consider how science or technology may look in the future, or even how we measure time, or how lifecycles occur. Any idea that is linked to the theme"!

Entries should be handed in to Mrs Walsh by Tuesday 20th February and all entries will be awarded house points.

The winning poster will be displayed on the Science Corridor and will be entered into the national competition!
