year 12 fineness organises sports event for charity

Fineness fund-raises for SOS by organising a charity dodgeball tournament

We are super proud of Year 12 Fineness, who has arranged a series of charity dodgeball tournaments in aid of the charity SOS. Sixth Formers are participating in and contributing to this great initiative by competing in matches that kicked off in the Sports Hall at lunchbreak today:

and will continue tomorrow, with the final showdown between the two winning teams scheduled for Monday 18th.

Students from across the school are being asked to donate by buying a ticket to spectate, and also to take part in a fund-raising raffle.

Fineness shares her motivation for organising this fantastic initiative, and how students can get involved:

The charity I will be fundraising for is called SOS and, as the name implies, they carry out great work all over the UK such as:

Hospital visits, blood donation drives, prison visits, community outreach events, charity football matches, and hunger appeals. They also do great work for Mental Health, such as the 24 hour Helpline, to which anyone, from any background, can call and receive help, whenever, at any time.

The Helpline in particular is one of my main driving factors for fundraising for this charity, as it has meant a lot to me personally, and the support it gives is vital to those in need.

If students would like to pay for a ticket now, the link to my Just Giving page is below.

Please ensure to include name and form (if you don’t you will not be able to receive a ticket)

Also, to ensure that you are not charged extra by Just Giving, make sure that your tip total is the custom amount of £0.

If you would like to pay on the day, there will be a QR code as well as a tin for cash collections

Thank you for your support and participation!

We are sure that our amazing school community will get behind this fantastic event, with huge thanks to Fineness for organising, and for taking the time to tell us all about it!
