interhouse sports day

UGS enjoys a day of Sports activities as the Houses challenge each other to take their place at the top of the Leaderboard!

Today we are enjoying another great whole school community event - Interhouse Sports Day, and not even the miserable December weather can dampen the spirits of our students!

Organised by House Leader and PE teacher Miss Salisbury, the PE department and House team, there has been a full programme of activities for Years 7-11 to compete in, as they represent their houses and battle it out to win points to get a march on the House Leaderboard.

Students were asked to allocate each member of their House to a sport, and then to wear the colours of their respective houses today in order to compete, and all are clearly proud to do everything that they can to secure points.

Pictured above and below are just some of the year groups taking part in the range of sports, including: table-tennis in the Main Hall:

badminton in the Gym:

football on the Astroturf:

and there is also Dodgeball in the Gym.

Many house-points are up for grabs, so there is everything to play for!

The results will be announced once they've been analysed and verified, and we can't wait to hear the outcome!

With huge thanks to Miss Salisbury, the PE department and the House Leaders for this fantastic day, and to the students for their enthusiastic participation!
