year 12 healthy lifestyles day

Day of presentations and workshops for Year 12 on well-being, self-care, mental health and volunteering to save lives

As part of our ongoing KS5 provision, today the Sixth Form Team arranged a day of visiting speakers and workshops for Year 12 on Healthy Lifestyles

The day began with informative presentations from representatives from Kooth (mental healthcare organisation for children and young adults), and from Tony Killen, who volunteers for Anthony Nolan's Hero Project, and heads up their educational programme that reaches out to young people and raises awareness about the vital work of the stem cell register in saving lives.

There was then a day's programme of rotating sessions for Year 12 to participate in, including a Cancer Awareness Workshop:

Followed by:

Gambling with Lives (Gambling with Lives Organisation)

Sexual Health (Talk Shop Sale)

Exercise/Sport

Healthy Eating & Relaxation

And at lunchtime in the LRC, Year 12 were also able to meet with Tony from Anthony Nolan to find out more, and to sign up for this worthy and vital cause.

We are extremely proud that so many of our Year 12s were keen to show their support.

A motivational, informative and insightful day for all of Year 12 that we know will be hugely positively impactful on their personal, physical and mental well-being, and to the contribution that they can make to the wider community and society.

With huge thanks to all of our visiting speakers, and to the Sixth Form Team for organising.
