interhouse chess tournament

Houses compete in intense Chess tournament!

All eyes were again on the chequered board last night as House and Chess Club leader Mrs Chadwick organised this half-term's whole school Interhouse Chess tournament.

What is great is that players of all levels and experience are welcome to join in and compete, and to represent their houses and they do not have to be members of Chess Club to take part - though of course many of the latter are naturally keen to showcase their skills!

It was fantastic to see so many of our students eager to stay behind after school to participate, and as you can see in our lead picture and below, all the players were truly in the zone!

And we are excited to share news that Mrs Chadwick, after analysing and verifying the results, is now able to announce the outcome for our players:

THE RESULTS!

These results are calculated on the basis of the average number of wins per house based on how many players represented each one:

  1. Park
  2. Bradfield
  3. Orme
  4. Oak
  5. Mersey

Individual players were also awarded a point for taking part, and then one point per win (or draw).  The players with 2+ wins/draws are:

Rayan N Bradfield

Donnie N Bradfield

Ryan C Mersey

Riley H Park

Ife S Park

Osama G Orme

Joe C Oak

Hari M Oak

Dan C Bradfield

Really well done all! With huge thanks to Mrs Chadwick for organising this great opportunity for our houses, and to all the students who took part. We can't wait for the next Chess event!
