Jacob conquers ben nevis

So proud of Year 8 Jacob's successful ascent!

We're excited to share news of Year 8 Jacob's success in conquering the lofty heights of the mighty Ben Nevis.

In an amazing achievement, keen hiker Jacob reached the highest peak of Ben Nevis, that, as you may know, is not only Scotland's, but the UK's highest mountain, and not for the faint-hearted!

Jacob has been a keen hiker since 2019, and often goes venturing with family (including their pet dog, who is just as enthusiastic!) and friends. Ben Nevis is Jacob's greatest achievement so far, but he really enjoyed time in the Lake District recently and hiking around Scafell Pike.

Jacob is also a Scout and his next walking challenge is to earn his Orienteering badge, where they will be off to the environs of Manchester's 600 acre Heaton Park, which, if you don't know, is the largest urban park in the North West, a place of multi-varied landscape, a stunning lake, a Heritage Tramway and a golf course (and, as I know from personal experience, purveyors of awesome lattes)!

Well done Jacob, keep climbing high, and we look forward to hearing more about your hiking achievements!
