Major Sports Event on the Horizon

A major calendar event for the end of June is Sports Day ... and while for the past few years students from UG have competed in the shadow of the mighty Etihad, this year (though competitors will no doubt quite rightly be inspired by the magic of Manchester City's recent tripartite triumph), we will be returning to the spiritual home of our Sports Day that is Longford Park Stadium.

Students and staff from across the Houses and year groups met today to plan for the Day and to allocate athletes to each of the events, and it promises to be as ever a major school community event!

We were also this week thrilled to welcome the Year 6s who will be joining us in September for the first of our transition to Year 7 Events, a fun Volleyball tournament on our Front Field , where they were able to meet members of staff and the students who will be their new peers. And we look forward to seeing them again next month when they will join us for a full day of the UG experience!

In Extra-Curricular news lunchtime Italian Club resumed this week, and our Silver D of E students headed off for the expedition that will earn them their award.

We look forward to hearing all about it next week!
