As it was Halloween this last week, the Library ran an event on classic and contemporary horror and thriller books where students pitted their wits, competing to correctly identify the highest number of titles from a series of clues. Students from across the year groups turned up to take part, many in teams and some individually.
Pictured are the winning team from Year 9: Joe Woolf, James Lucas and Finn Mulligan. All are fans of the horror genre and both Joe and James’s favourite title is Stephen King’s The Shining, while Finn’s is RL Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
Joint runners up were 7R team Kiera Blood, Sophie Trueman, Farwa Naveed and Aminah Saeed, and 7M team Louis Donnelly, Abdul Nazir, Jack Flynn, Ben Sullivan and Rowan Statter.
A special mention also to Louis Walton 7R who achieved the highest score for a solo entry – well done!
