On the first weekend in October – weather pending – Mr Dickson will be undertaking his annual physical challenge. This year, it will be the Snowdon Horseshoe. This will entail seven hours of scrambling, climbing and trekking over seven miles of Snowdonia, ascending 1094 meters, and will include the scaling of Snowdon’s peak.
Such physical challenges are negotiated each year by Mr Dickson as he seeks to raise funds for two Christmas parties, hosted by our sixth formers, one for local Senior Citizens and one for pupils from Delamere Special School.
In previous years, Mr Dickson’s challenges have including canoeing down the Bridgewater Canal and cycling along the Trans-Pennine Trail, as well as scrambling up Tryfan, Ben Nevis and Helvellyn, and hiking in the Yorkshire Dales.
It would be great if this worthy cause could be supported by all connected with the school. A £1.00 donation from every student would provide all the funding necessary (though feel free to give more if you like), and make Mr Dickson’s efforts worthwhile. Please consider donating via ParentPay to Mr Dickson’s Snowdonia Challenge. All such donations will be gratefully received and will help us to brighten up Christmas for those in our local community.
