Year 8 student, Ruby Owen Hull, is to have her artwork exhibited by the Royal Academy!
Before and during Lockdown, Urmston Grammar students from years 7-12 were challenged to produce work for the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Show. “Fantastic news – what an accomplishment!” exclaimed Principal, Mrs R. Wall, on hearing that Ruby’s work had been selected to be exhibited on the Academy’s online exhibition and actually on site in London.
Art teacher, Miss A. Bamford, who created this opportunity for our students said of Ruby: “She has done amazingly well, as they had over 17,000 submissions.”
Ruby’s work is a self-portrait which pictures her on a day out in Manchester, pre-lockdown.
