Howdy 🤠 ,
On Thursday we took part in our thermal and cryogenic testing and it was very interesting as we learnt how to insulate 🥵 items properly. Later that day we had a tour of the Neutral Buoyancy Lab 🧫 and we even saw some astronauts getting geared up to take part in an 8 hour scuba diving mission! We then took part in a scuba diving 🤿 and underwater robotics challenge. Personally, I thought this was AMAZING 😉. Some girls found the scuba diving challenging difficult as it was hard to breathe properly underwater; however, I found that after a while it was brilliant 💦. The robotics was very interesting as we managed to control and steer a robot underwater which was cool as this is what they do in NASA! That night we went bowling 🎳 which was great fun – especially as I won 😂!
On Friday, we had a tour of the Independence Plaza which was fantastic – we got to see the airplane ✈️ that carried the Independence Shuttle! Later that day we even got to meet an astronaut 👩🚀 which was very cool 😎. We found out lots about his life: he used to be in the Navy Marines; and this experience helped him to become an astronaut 🚀! To kick off a fabulous week, we went to the Kemah Boardwalk where there were many attractions to ride on – it was lots of fun!
Overall, this has been an amazing experience that has changed my view on the engineering and space industry!
A big thank you to Mrs. Motiwala and Mr. Patel for taking and looking after us all.
