It’s always a tough decision: brolly or no brolly? When it’s wet and windy – do you use your brolly only for it to be blown inside out, or do you not use your brolly and risk a soaking? These were just some of the issues facing 900 plus Urmston Grammar students and staff as they trekked – undaunted – the eight miles to Jackson’s Boat and back to school, across the Mersey Meadows last Thursday.
The walk was undertaken to gather sponsorship for our Pitch-in fund, as we seek to raise the funds required to replace the failing Astroturf (it has lasted us nearly 30 years, to be fair!) on our All-weather playing surface.
It was a great community effort from the school, and a great deal of fun was to be had, as many donned an impressive array of fancy dress. See some of the highlights in these photos.
