Three peaks, twenty-five miles, and all walked in twelve hours – that’s the challenge for Mr. DIckson this year.
Each year, Mr Dickson undertakes a physical challenge in order to raise money for Christmas parties that will be hosted by members of our sixth form, one for children from Delamere Special School, and another for local Senior Citizens.
In previous years Mr. Dickson has climbed Ben Nevis and Helvellyn, trekked the punishing and treacherous Snowdon Horse Shoe, cycled the Trans-Pennine Trail, canoed the Bridgewater Canal, and this time last year, he cycled from Urmston to the other side of Silverdale, crossing the three counties of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and into Cumbria.
This year, it will just be one county – Yorkshire – but three peaks – Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough – that Mr. Dickson intends to scale.
Last year, a magnificent sum was raised, and it would be great if this worthy cause could again be supported by all connected with the school. A £1.00 donation from every student would provide all the funding necessary (though feel free to give more if you like; how about £1.00 per peak?), and make Mr Dickson’s efforts worthwhile.
Please consider donating via ParentPay to Mr Dickson’s Three Peaks Challenge. All such donations will be gratefully received and will help us to brighten up Christmas for those in our local community.
