September 2016-May 2017
At Urmston Grammar we are expanding our Teaching and Learning provision and hope to develop partnerships with local schools which facilitate professional growth and improve outcomes for all. We are offering our in-house NQT/RQT Training Programme for other schools to access, in order to help support our newest teachers in the community and to allow them to develop their skill-set in a shared forum.
The programme is delivered over eight sessions which cover the fundamental aspects of the teaching standards and target the specific needs of teachers at the start of their careers. They combine theoretical understanding with practical advice, useful resources and adaptable methodology for all subject areas. Each session is divided into four parts; the first three outlining areas of practice and the final part an open discussion for the teachers to ask questions and collaboratively plan how they will apply what they’ve learnt in their own school context. We feel that this opportunity will allow networking between schools and the sharing of best practice in a supportive environment. All attendees will take away a pack of resources from each session and a Certificate of Attendance for their CPD file. The programme is designed to stretch and challenge NQTs and RQTs but is also suitable for any teacher who wishes to undergo additional training.
Each session is £25 per teacher, or £160 per teacher for access to the full eight session training programme.
