Conservative party fined £70,000

The Conservative Party are being fined £70,000 after claims they broke election laws between 2014 and 2015.
Channel 4 investigations found that they had:
Missed payments
Failed to maintain records
Didn’t provide receipts or invoices
Last March the Conservatives admitted that they had made ‘an administrative error.’
The opposition have also been fined in the past.
A spokesperson added: “there needs to be a review of how the Electoral Commission’s processes and requirements could be clarified or improved”.
