Christmas comes each time this year,
And UGS is full of cheer
The sixth form gang have dressed the tree,
A grotto too, with elvish glee –
To cheer the kids from Delamere.
Adding to the festive mix
Are Baz and Tom with magic tricks.
Persuaded by some sixth form banter,
Dr Richards dressed as Santa
And posed with Saira for some pics.
Then to the church to sing and read
We follow to the choir’s lead,
With instruments of strings and brass,
Sometimes in solo, then en masse.
Then upon mince pies we feed.
But this is not a time for greed,
Nor simply time to feast and feed,
And so we’ve joined 103’s vision
And brought our toys in for their mission:
To bless poor children in their need.
Remember too that tale of old –
For generations it’s been told:
The one about the Christmas Child
Who grew not rich but meek and mild –
And taught that only love is gold.
