Welcome to our school web pages from all at URMSTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL Science College.
An outstanding 11 to 18 co-educational grammar school, a new "High Performing Specialist College"
and additionally for April 2008 a new LANGUAGE College.

Our students. our school and our environment.

Thank you for showing interest in our school and visiting our web site.

It has been my good fortune to lead this school for nine years now and without doubt, Urmston Grammar School is an exceptional school.

In September 2004 we officially became a Science College, a centre of excellence for the teaching of Science. In addition Trafford LA regularly reach top position in both the GCSE and A'level league tables. We were also described as an "outstanding" school by OfSTED in February 2006; outstanding leadership with special mention for the two new members of the leadership team being perhaps the finest accolade we could have expected. We have now been identified as one of the new "High Performing Specialist Colleges", in the country and we are looking at Languages as a specialism to add to Science.

We have recently moved in to our new £1.2 million and £800,000 extensions which will improve the quality of experience for our students for years to come at the same time as adding social space for all pupils of the highest quality.

My teaching staff are experienced and immensely talented; always generous with their time and keen to extend the learning opportunities of our students beyond what one would normally expect from a school. They are without doubt a tremendous asset.

Our students are here to learn and they demonstrate this willingness in the classroom and beyond. Our motto, "manners makyth man" is our constant reminder that courtesy to one another, good humour and mutual respect are the foundations of our relationships with each other.

We enjoy each others company; we celebrate each others successes; we build on each others strengths and we know each others weaknesses.Together we create that keen mind and healthy attitude that equips our students for their experience in University and their inevitable life beyond our school.

We are both a community school and a family for life.
