Sixth Form Bursary 2023-24

Every year Urmston Grammar School provides many Year 12 and Year 13 students with financial support from the sixth form bursary. To qualify for this assistance students must have been aged either 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August 2023 and also meet the EFA's residency criteria. The bursary is paid to enable students to access education at Urmston Grammar School and will be paid pro-rata for student attendance.

Vulnerable Bursary Criteria

 To qualify the student must fall into one of the categories below and produce the required evidence:

(1) In receipt of Income Support or Universal Credit (Income Support or Universal Credit Statement required)

(2) Care Leaver or currently looked after in Local Authority care (Letter from Local Authority required)

(3) A disabled student in receipt of Employment Support Allowance, Universal Credit or Disability Allowance/Personal Independence Payments (Financial statement showing ESA, UC and/or DLA/PIP)

Discretionary Bursary Criteria

Total household income is the criteria used to determine whether students qualify for the discretionary bursary. If a students total household income is less than £27,500 per annum they may qualify for this bursary. Please see the application form for the list of acceptable forms of evidence.
